Icebreaker: Operation Barbarossa 1941, WW2 Eastern Front

This mod is a full Ghost Recon conversion. The mod primarily deals with the topic of special operations during WW2, and specifiaclly with the topic of the Eastern Front. Icebreaker: Barbarossa is a first part in this series.

The mod features 3 new maps and 6 missions. In the SP mode you will be able to play as either a member of the elite Brandenburg Kommando detachment or as a Soviet paratrooper. The Multiplayer mode is also available. The missions and the environment of this mod attempt to reallisticly convey the nature of the special operations combat during the initial stages of the Operation Barbarossa in 1941.

If this is the first time you are installing a GR mod follow step-by-step installation instructions bellow.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

--------------------------

1. Create a temporary folder somewhere on your system (doesn't matter where); you will extract the Icebreaker mod into it.

2. Open the Icebreaker_ver01.zip file. DO NOT SELECT ALL THE FILES IN THE ZIP AND SIMPLY DRAG THEM INTO THE TEMPORARY FOLDER YOU'VE JUST CREATED - YOU WILL RUIN THE MOD'S FILE STRUCTURE!!!!

3. Press Shift + E keyboard shortcut, or click on the Extract button in the tool bar at the top of the WinZip interface, or go under Action and in the dropdown menu select Extract.

4. "Extract" dialogue box will appear. Check off the "All files" and "Use folder names" options. In the large window that shows you computer's file structure on the right locate and select the temporary folder you've created in the first step. The "Extract to:" text field at the top of the Extract dialogue box will now show the path to the temporary folder. Now click "Extract" button on the far right of the "Extract" dialogue box. WinZip will begin unzipping the archive into your temporary folder.

5. Once the unzipping process in complete open the temporary folder. There you will find the entire "Icebreaker_01" mod folder.

6. Locate and open the "Mod" folder in the Ghost Recon directory on you hard drive.

7. Place the entire "Icebreaker_01" folder into the "Mod" folder.

8. Start the game.

9. Under the main menu in the game interface click "Options" button.

10. In the "Options" click on the "Mods" tab to enter the mod initialization menu.

11. In the "Mods" menu there are two windows: "Available Mods" and "Active Mods". In the "Available Mods", on the left, select the "Icebreaker: 39-45" mod and click the "Activate" button in the middle of the menu. "Icebreaker: 39-45" now has to show up in the "Active Mods" window on the right. Select "Icebreaker: 39-45" in the right window and click "Increase Priority" button below it. Select any other active mods that are in the right window and click "Deactivate" button in the middle to deactivate them.

12. Click the "Accept" button at the bottom.

13. The interface will change to the "Icebreaker" mod screen - the mod is active.

14. Before you play your first mission click on the Replay button in the Main Menu. That will give you and idea how to deal with armor in this mod.

15. Now go back to the Main Menu and select a mission you want to play from the "Quick Mission".
