Imagination world is a Total Conversion for Duke Nukem 3d V1.3. It features many, many new levels, weapons & enemies, & an all new hero.

Misc. Author Info : I'm a 15 year old mapper for Duke nukem 3d. I have been

creating Duke3d maps for 3 years. Can create such effects as transparent

water,ladders & more.I have made this Tc All by myself.

This Tc started at the 1st of September, 2000, (I was 12 then, Birtdays the 4th of

september), & finished at January 2002. After a downtime of about 5 months, it's

back in a patched form.

Other Levels : A Borg Nukem level, Survival Tech demo, CBP2 & 3, other stuff .etc

Description : This is the Imagination world TC, a full- TC as there is a new main charecter, all new enemies, weapons,textures plus a hell of a lot more. It is as total as a total conversion can be, as it replaces almost everything, even small things, like the borders, smallest font, water bubbles & the smoke that the Rocket creates. There is a Training course in the Level Iwbfaq that I recommend you try to learn some of the New features of Iw. There are also no Echo sectors, so if you own a SBlive! or a Recent soundcard, don't worry about crashing (I didn't play duke nukem for Years until I found the soundfx patch ;D ). if you haven't already, install the Patch that's available on the 3drealms website. This TC is based on a story that I created . The names of the badguys (Gimpy,Pitfiend) are original. As I said earlier, I created this Tc by myself, but I couldnt have done it as well if it wasn't for some people (see credits).

Changes from V1.1 to V1.2

-Updated most levels

-Updated Enemy Graphics

-Re-recorded Voices .etc

-Lowered amount of Snow Spawned, shouldn't lag as much now

-Uzi replaces SMG

-New Shotgun

-MP5 Replaces Crossbow

-Fixed few Con bugs

Changes from V1.0 to V1.1:

-Changes to Various levels (Most noticable is Fortress.map & Port.map)

-Updated some weapon graphics (RPG,Shotgun, some of the Hands .etc)

-Misc. changes to the Voice's .etc

Story : The savior of the earth, Duke nukem, was the best of the EDF. But after going out

to save some babes on a 'special' mission, he failed to return. If he is dead or not

is not known. But the Large alien invasion was over. They realised Earth was too

'Advanced' to overcome, so they retreated & chose to invade another galaxy (Cowards)

Suddenly new aliens & monsters appeared. The aliens, known as Pitfiends, captured lot's

of large creatures Known as Gimpy's & used them to help overcome earth. With the

large activity the Magico, a group of mysterious creatures, Were awaken from the sleep.

The Goverment was overcome with reports that they decied to join the aliens.

As their duty, the EDF remained strictly against the aliens, which meant they were enemies

of the Goverment. Battle after battle, the Goverment fought to destroy all EDF forces,

yet they were spread out across the World. This proved a problem for the Goverment.

With the EDF still active, they may scare off potential allies like the Pitfiends.

Somehow they had to distract the EDF, so they could attack their main HQ, Garmid.

For weeks they planned out who & when to attack, to draw them away. Yet each attempt

failed. The Goverment had 75% of the world, but their troops were too poorly trained to fight

against the EDF. Then they made a discovery. A certain agent of EDF, James S., was considered

importent as he had first hand experience of the Evil Pitfiends. This was a perfect Target. Killing

him would not only destroy valuable information about the pitfiends, it would also distract the EDF.

Their only problem was to find him......

It was late noon. A quite evening in Karmil. James had been given a short break from his

work at the EDF, & decided to stay at Karmil. It had interesting shops, & the apartments

were generally good. After an extensive look around town, he had settled back in his apartment

to watch the latest movies.

The Goverment had sent two troops to kill him, more then enough. There mission was

simple, blow up the roof & surprise him. Shouldn't be too difficult. Should it?

Known Bugs/Problems : A few

1: Super coke/steroids Bug

When you use this, if you are hit by an Explosion it doesnt

count in the health box until the Coke runs out. Like in real life.

2. For some reason the sky is messed up in 'Mount rilj Spaceport'

This is a problem with the sky textures. I may fix it in a later version

3. Sometimes some Textures in 'Welcome to Garmid' mess up.

I don't know why this happens.

4. a bug in 'The final showdown'. The last boss refues to move from it's spot, despite

my many efforts to try & make him move.

5. If you shoot the Hatchers (Slimers) with the Plasma gun,

it freezes them. Unavoidable as the Slimer is Hard-coded (ie: the code is

put into the main duke3d.exe)

6. There are more insignificant bugs around, sorry about this.

*Important Information*

Installation :Make Sure that your Duke3d directory is empty (A fresh install of Duke3d is suggested)

unzip it using The program provided into this directory.

Important Notes :

You may use this Tc as a base for others, but you must give me Full credit.

You may not distribute this TC on your site . Imagination world will not work

with the Shareware or Atomic versions of Duke, so don't try. If you have the

Atomic/Plutoniam edition, I may make a Atomic version. Please read the

Imagination world Instalation.txt file for installing the art files.

I built this TC on a P3 450mhz computer. I recomend at least a P1 or more. If you have a slow

computer & it slows down on an action scene, try turning detail off in the options menu & removing shadows.

I M A G I N A T I O N W O R L D F A Q

1. Why did you do This tc?

Well, after my meeting with the Pizza guy, I was walking home when.........oh wait Wrong story. Basicaly I was developing another Total conversion (Which was Total CRAP, so I ditched it) when I decided to create an add-on based on one of many games I created in my spare time. After time grew I added more & more, & eventually I realised that my 'Little' project had grown into a fully blown Tc.

2.Cool! there were some great effects in your TC!

3. There are a lot of People mentioned. Who are they?

In Imagination world their are many NPC's (Non-Player charecters) who James can talk to,

like the citizens of Xuglop. James has also a friend called Brian, who may relay messages to him

latter on in the 2nd episode.

4.Isn't it a bit weird putting yourself as the main charecter?

Not really, Duke3d made it easy, so I thought 'yeah, why the hell not!'

5. Is there anything You don't like about Imagination World?

Some of the levels are too short. That & some of my voice 'acting' is a bit.......cheesy ;)

6. Are there any future Tc's coming from your way?

I'm working on a add-on for Eduke called Survival, the websites at www.geocitites.com/jstanf36. I may also create a Eduke

version of Imagination world (fix bugs, even better features e.t.c). And I'm working an an add-on pack for IW as well

7. Who's in Jsgames? Can I join?

At the moment, I'm the only Member of JSgames (Bit sad, isnt it? ; ) ). I basicly do the .Con editing, the mapping

& everything else (except from sound & music, haven't quite figured it out yet :) ). Later on, in the Development of Survival

(see above), I may open a postion for Mappers, but we'll see.

DEATHMATCH

In Imagination world there are a separate set of Con files for Multiplayer.Please note that the Multiplayer

Iw cons are just something I quickly created, so they may be quite a few bugs. To play Multiplayer Iw,

run the Launcher (a .Bat file) & select Iw multiplayer. It will run setup.Exe. Upon setting up the game,

Imagination world will launch. There are some new features in Iw multiplayer. There are as follows.

Bots

If you can't play multiplayer On-line, there are a few bot modes of play, & boy, they are tough!. In some of the Small multiplayer maps

there are only 3 or 4 bots, but in the bigger maps there are bot spawners that indefinatly spawn Bots. The bots fire their trusty

Railguns frequently (Hey, the Railgun is my favourite weapon also!), & sometimes fire the Rocket Launcher or Shotgun. Remember, if you want bots on, you should set the skill level on 'Let's rock' or Higher.

Capture the Flag

In Imagination World Capture the Flag, the Rules are simple.

To win, run up to the opposing team's flag & press space. A trumpet will sound, & a message will appear.

There are 8 grey pads. use these to decide your team. If you want to be on Red, press spacebar. If you want to

be Blue, Duck on the pad. a message will appear telling you your decision. You have to choose a team otherwise you can't

capture a flag, & the Laser turrets won't shoot at you.

Team sensitive turrets.

In some of the Ctf Maps, your base will be protected by Short range Laser turrets. These turrets can fire a repetitive stream

of Laser fire, & will dish out some punishment. But, if they are hit, there is a short delay before they can fire again, which means the enemy could

destry them easily during this stage. To have turrets during CTF maps, make sure monsters are On.
