Description: Improved Announcer

Effects taken from Unreal, UT, and UT2003.

This is a new announcer voice pack for Unreal Tournament 2003.
You must have UT2003 version 2.166 or later for it to work.

Improved Announcer fixes one of UT2003's greatest flaws: its
highly annoying announcer. Even the makers of the game have
admitted the announcer they chose is incredibly annoying. This
pack keeps the good aspects of the voice announcing and gets
rid of the rest, substituting it with sound effects and other
voices so that you can still keep on top of the match, but not
be annoyed to the point of quitting. Some sounds are drawn from
the original Unreal Tournament's announcing, which was much better
quality. Other effects are taken from elsewhere in Unreal, UT, and
UT2003. Effects were edited and increased in volume to match the
other UT2003 sound effects.

TO INSTALL:

Extract IMPROVED.UAX to your UT2003\SOUNDS directory.

Open the file USER.INI in your UT2003\SYSTEM directory.

Scroll to the very bottom and, under the [UnrealGame.UnrealPlayer]
heading, change the line "CustomizedAnnouncerPack=" line to read
"CustomizedAnnouncerPack=Improved"

Save the file and exit.

Set Announcements to ALL and Announcer Volume to 4 in your
in-game UT2003 audio settings for best effect.

NOTE: Double Domination mode is now finally "playable"! Now you can
see just how incredibly fun that mode really is, without the
nauseatingly annoying announcements.
