INTRODUCTION
This is a voice pack of Lt. Ellen Ripley, a character from the Alien movie saga played by actress Sigourney Weaver. Ripley is taking a break from fighting the alien menace to vent her madness in the Tournament. You better watch out or this one woman army will drill a hole in you big enough to drive an APC through!
For the past several months this pack, along with the others I'm working on, has been lying around on my HDD 95% complete. A crushing fear of failure and rejection, a burning desire to get it right the first time and numerous other delays have forstalled its completion. Now, finally, it is done and I hope my fears will be proven wrong and people will enjoy it. As soon as I get my hands on Unreal Tournament 2003, and figure out how to use the new UED, I'm going to port my VPs over. The Lamb has been working on a Ripley skin for the UT Female Commando, but apparantly there hasn't been any news about it in some time. I suggest you send an E-Mail message to encourage further devlopment.
I managed to cover all the bases in this voice pack, though I had to use a couple of samples from Weaver's other non-Alien related movies in order to do so. I had to resort to some careful splicing of sounds to make the appropriate commands, but it didn't always work out as well as I'd hoped. For example, I had to whittle down the line 'The ship's been go since the attack' to 'Go attack' for the ASSAULT THE BASE command. Now she doesn't sound very commanding while speaking this order, but it's the best I could do. The sounds are 8-bit, 22KHz mono .WAV files. The VP contains foul language throughout, so there was no point in me marking any of the taunts. I tried that once with another voice pack and couldn't play any of the marked taunts, even with the "No Mature Taunts" option disabled. I've also included some Aliens vs. Predator related game add-ons in the Links section.
