Description: Digital Paintball v2.0

Digital Paintball modifies the multiplayer aspects of Half-Life to make it seem like you and some friends decided to go play paintball.

Digital Paintball is a modification (MOD) to the excellent game Half-life. It modifies the multiplayer aspects of the game to make it seem like you and some friends decided to go play paintball. Not terribly unlike real life, Digital Paintball provides the player with an exhillarating experiance.

The well rounded digital paintball team consists of players and referees from all over the world. Being a young team, the members of Digital Paintball seek out into the community for ideas and inspiration. The DPB team reads their forums daily, to better understand the community's needs and wants. Suggestions from fans are taken seriously and feedback is always welcome. One result of said relationship is that Digital Paintball is the first and only paintball game for halflife to feature leaning, better known as "Snap" shooting.

Digital Paintball strives for realism. The on screen display is as sparse as possible, and is comparable to the amount of information gathered by players during an actual game. Careful attention has been paid to detail of the marker models, and they look amazing. Modes of play include Capture the flag, Centerflag, Reverse capture the flag, Attack and Defend, and Elimination. Markers in the beta so far include Angels, Autocockers, Automags, Excalibers, m98s, Pgps, PT Extremes, Phantoms, sl68s, spyders, and shockers. ( Just the first beta, more to come ).

The marker aquirement system used to select markers bears little resemblance to the unrealistic money system of old. Digital Paintball works on an expertly balanced credit system whichs makes the game all the more fun. For example(this is all hypothetical), every player starts the game with 20 credits. Player X buys an Angel(10), VL Revolution(2), DYE Boomstick(3), Air System (3), and a bag of paint(2), thus using all 20 credits. Player Y purchases an Autococker(6), VL Revolution(2), DYE Boomstick(3), Air System (3), and 3 bags of paint(2). Neither player has an extreme advatage over the other, and the game is balanced. Note: the above example is not the finalized credit system, only an example.

Digital currently features only limited upgrades, but in the future each marker will have its own upgradable features including hoppers, triggers, and paint. Currently three barrels are selectable for each marker. Digital Paintball will no doubt get better and better as more upgrades are released in later betas.

Another amazing feature in Digital Paintball is our integrated anticheating system. Using widely recoginzed techniques in anticheat technology, we have made cheating much harder. Most wallhacking has been eliminated. Bunny Hopping? a thing of the past. Not to mention the low latency physics, but it has been documented that 56kers with skill have consistantly outperformed broadband users - a complete reversal from the norm.

Paintball on the computer will never replace actual paintballing. There can only be so much realism incorporated into a computer game. However, Digital Paintball is trying its best to satisfy the most diehard paintballer and the most inexperianced noob
